Everyone is expected to gain either a short-course GCSE or an Entry Level Qualification in this subject. It supports the spiritual and moral development of students by providing an opportunity for exploration of the big questions of life through a range of different points of view. It also meets many of the requirements for Personal and Social Education and for Citizenship. It provides an excellent background for AS level Philosophy and Ethics, and for careers requiring ‘people’ skills or analytical skills.
Modules are:
Religion and the media (coursework).
A matter of life or death (abortion, euthanasia, life after death).
Sex, marriage, family, divorce.
God on trial (existence of God, why suffering?).
Respect (sexism, racism, religious prejudice).

R.S. – ‘Religion and Society’
Students may opt to study both the ‘Religion and Life’ and the ‘Religion and Society’ units to obtain a full course GCSE qualification. It forms an excellent background for A level Philosophy and Ethics and for careers requiring ‘people’ skills or analytical skills.
