Jewellery
The only items of jewellery permitted for boys and girls are one plain ring, a single necklace, one pair of earrings of the stud variety, and one watch. The school cannot accept responsibility for valuable rings or jewellery in general.
Hair
Whilst acknowledging the pressure of fashion and peers we would ask parents to ensure that hair is of a natural colour and worn in a style which is inoffensive and suitable for a professional establishment.
Extremely short hair, shaved heads or very obvious highlights are not acceptable.
Items Not Permitted
Leather coats and jackets, studded clothing, denim clothing of any kind, training shoes (except in PE and games) belts, fashion shirts/blouses, boots of any kind (other than Dr Martens).
Visible body piercing, apart from ears for one stud in each ear, is not acceptable
Failure To Wear Correct Uniform
We do recognise that on occasions an item of uniform might not be worn. Parents should inform the school of the reason and students will be issued with an exemption for a short period of time. Failure of a student to produce a note or exemption will result in a discipline slip being issued.
Full details of our school uniform policy are published in the School Prospectus.
Stockists
The boys’ and girls’ uniform Vnecked jumper are only available form KickOff, High Street, Flitwick. Blazer badges and school ties are only available from the School Office. Other items of uniform may be purchased from any supplier.
Sixth Form Dress Code
The main guideline is:
Students should dress very smartly for school as if they were working in a formal office situation. They should also recognize that they will be setting an example as senior students of the school.
Specific guidelines:
BOYS should wear collar and tie and trousers (NOT jeans).
GIRLS should wear a dress, or skirt of suitable length or tailored trousers with blouse and plain jumper.
Denim is not acceptable.
In both cases, shoes should be worn, not trainers.
As with the main school, only one stud per ear is acceptable. No other visible piercing will be considered appropriate.
The school reserves the right to veto a student’s choice of clothes for school, and doubts as to the suitability should be discussed with the Form Tutor, House Leader and Sixth Form Team.
Specific points to note are:
Girls may not wear shorts – tailored knee length shorts are acceptable, hot pants are not
Outside coats and scarves must not be worn inside the buildings
Hoodies are not considered suitable
No visible piercings are allowed
Boys are expected to wear a shirt(tucked in) and tie
Tailored trousers must be worn, not jeans
Shoes must be worn, not trainers
